Vice President for Continuing and Professional Education

The University of Mary is seeking a new Vice President for Continuing and Professional Education. Founded in 1959 by the Benedictine Sisters of the Annunciation to prepare leaders in the service of truth, the University is a private, Catholic university that cherishes its Christian, Benedictine identity and welcomes and serves persons of all faiths while preparing them for the professions with a strong liberal arts base. Boasting an enrollment of over 3,000 students, the University has locations in North Dakota (main campus - Bismarck), Montana, Missouri, Kansas, Arizona, Minnesota and Rome, Italy.

The Vice President for Continuing and Professional Education reports to the President and plays a key role in the visionary leadership, planning, budgeting, management, and implementation of programs related to all aspects of continuing and professional education at the university. S/He is responsible for corporate collaboration and partnerships, the successful recruiting and enrollment of students, professional marketing, and leading personnel in the Centers for Accelerated and Distance Education and continuing education.

The University of Mary seeks an academic professional with demonstrated knowledge of the needs of the adult learner and of the corporate setting. S/He should have a master’s degree (doctoral preferred); a minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in higher education with focus on continuing education and professional programs that has grown and advanced at a mission-driven, private/public college or university in a highly competitive market; experience in a senior administrative position with supervisory and budgetary responsibilities; multi-site oversight experience preferred. S/He must have the ability to communicate effectively the mission and values of the University of Mary, have impeccable integrity, exemplary oral and written communication skills, with a strong attention to detail. The ideal candidate will uphold and promote the Christian, Catholic, Benedictine mission of the University, especially as the mission manifests itself in the area of continuing and professional education.
