St. Thomas University seeks a visionary and energetic leader of its highly successful and newly configured School of Theology and Ministry. Reporting to the Provost of the University, the Dean has administrative oversight of all academic programs, centers and institutes within the School.

Located on a beautiful, self-contained campus in Miami Gardens, Florida, St. Thomas is a student-centered university committed to the academic and professional success of its students who become ethical leaders in our global community. Founded in 1961, St. Thomas University is the only Catholic Archdiocesan sponsored university in the State of Florida. The rich cultural and international diversity of South Florida is reflected in the student population, with over 60% of students representing minority communities. The University offers 27 undergraduate majors, 17 graduate degrees and two professional programs to over 2200 undergraduate and 1600 graduate, doctoral and law students.

The School of Theology and Ministry has established itself as a leader in theological and ministerial education grounded in practical theology, offering the BA in Religious Studies, the MA in Pastoral Ministries, the Master of Divinity, and the PhD in Practical Theology. In addition, the School has a certificate program in Spiritual Companionship, an international online program in Spiritual Studies, a newly formed Ecumenical Institute, and a highly engaged Center for Peace and Justice, with long-term, collaborative programs in Port-de-Paix, Haiti, as well local and regional outreach commitments.

The successful candidate must be a Catholic academic administrator who possesses an earned doctorate in theology/ministry or related field and a record of quality teaching, research, and service for this position which has faculty rank. Candidates must demonstrate the capacity for successful grant writing and fundraising, provide evidence of innovative strategic planning, and be enthusiastic about the possibilities of working with a dynamic faculty, staff and administration to enable growth within the present programs and to make this the finest School of Theology in the Southeast.
