RIVIER COLLEGE invites nominations and applications for the new position of Dean of Business. Rivier College is recognized for its more than 60 degree programs serving the needs of both traditional and non-traditional students. The College prides itself on small classes led by accomplished faculty who create an active, experience-based learning environment. Founded in 1933 by the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, Rivier College in Nashua, New Hampshire, is a Catholic institution offering professional preparation and a liberal arts education for almost 2,300 undergraduate and graduate students. The College offers academic excellence in a learning environment that seeks to educate the whole person—mind, body, and spirit.

Rivier College seeks an experienced and entrepreneurial academic to lead the division of Business. One of five deans reporting to the vice president of academic affairs under a newly realigned academic administrative structure, the dean of business will have a demonstrable commitment to academic quality and a contemporary vision of education for business and related professions. The Dean will be a valued member of the academic community and play an important role in the implementation of the College’s aspirational strategic plan with a specific focus on providing programs of academic distinction, anticipated “university” status, and the fulfillment of Rivier’s core mission of “Transforming hearts and minds to serve the world.”

Duties and Responsibilities
• Initiates, guides, develops, and implements new academic programs, including distance and hybrid methods of delivery at the undergraduate and graduate level.
• Articulates a compelling vision of business education in a global environment.
• Supports and enhances a strong faculty in the work of teaching, scholarship, and service.
• Leads the process in which the College becomes ACBSP accredited.
• Provides leadership and planning in the work of academic program review and renewal. Demonstrates a commitment to the assessment of student learning. • Enhances the academic culture with a commitment to academic advisement, internships, and faculty-student research opportunities.
•Serves as an accessible and collaborative partner with the associate vice president for professional studies and the areas of enrollment management, student development, and academic support services.
• Develops and utilizes advisory boards to assess the market for new business and related programs.
• Expands the regional profile of River College business programs and develops key relationships among business and community leaders.

Qualifications include: a commitment to the mission of Rivier College and the values of a Catholic higher education; a terminal degree in business or related field; a record of academic achievement or commensurate business experience; dedication to maintaining high academic standards that value quality teaching, active research, and meaningful service; experience in academic leadership at a department or divisional level; ability to create academic programs of distinction; capacity to develop partnerships with businesses, government, not-for-profits, and other constituents; a global perspective of business education and academic program development; and enthusiasm, energy, and a collaborative work ethic.
