PRESIDENT

The Board of Directors of the College invites nominations and applications for the position of President of Labouré. Reporting to the Corporation, the President is the chief executive officer of the College.

Labouré is a small, non-profit, private, Catholic college founded in 1892 and re-established with degree-granting authority in 1971, with a history of educating health professionals for practice dating back to the Carney Hospital Training School for Nurses and the Catherine Labouré School of Nursing. Labouré is a non-residential college where adults and traditional-aged students commute to their classes and clinical rotations.

In 2010, the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education approved the change of membership of Labouré College to Steward Health Care LLC, the second largest health care system in New England. The College continues to operate with non-profit status. Students are given experience within several academic medical centers and teaching hospitals within the system. Located in the Dorchester-Lower Mills section of Boston, the College grants the Bachelor of Science in Nursing and the Associate in Science degree in Nursing and in a variety of Allied Health majors. Students prepare in the fields of nutrition, nursing, radiation therapy, neurodiagnostic technology, and HYPERLINK "http://www.caritaschristi.org/oth/Page.asp?PageID=OTH003129"health information and begin a career that makes a difference in their lives. The graduate of Labouré College is prepared for lifelong learning and civic engagement to deliver patient-centered care as an active member of an interdisciplinary team.

Labouré College is seeking an experienced CEO who is knowledgeable about higher education in a health sciences setting, has a strong background in leadership, and has demonstrated successful experience in higher education and/or healthcare administration. The ideal candidate should have the credentials appropriate for a college president: a Doctoral degree or a Master's degree with demonstrated leadership experience in a related field. The new President will have impeccable integrity, exemplary communication skills, a record of proven leadership ability, and vision; be a motivator who will lead by example; be comfortable in fundraising and both community and external relations; with an understanding of current health care reform and its affect on higher education.
