Director of Physical Therapy Program

Jamestown College is accepting nominations and applications for a full-time Director for its new Doctor of Physical Therapy program to be located in Fargo. The College, located in North Dakota, is a Presbyterian-related college founded in 1883 which provides its one thousand students with a curriculum that promotes academic excellence and balances the ideals of the liberal arts tradition and sound professional preparation within a Christian atmosphere of self-discipline, responsibility, and concern for their continuing growth.

This new program is expected to enroll its first class in the fall of 2013 and will be located in Fargo, North Dakota, 90 miles east of Jamestown, a dynamic growing urban center of approximately 208,000 people. Fargo is the cultural, retail, manufacturing, educational, and health care center for a large trade area and is the home of two large hospital groups. Fargo has been recognized as one of the fastest growing and safest communities in the country.

Qualifications for the Director of the Physical Therapy Program include the following:

  • Associate Professor Rank (DPT preferred, MPT required)
  • Research Doctorate (ED.D., Ph.D., or equivalent)
  • Proven leadership abilities
  • Proven record of teaching excellence in physical therapy education
  • Evidence of service to the profession
  • Motivated to create a model physical therapy program
The Director will oversee the design of the curriculum, the accreditation process, the hiring of faculty and staff, and overall management of the program. The ideal candidate will have experience with CAPTE accreditation and academic program assessment in addition to experience in scholarship, advising, and teaching. She or he will have the insight, vision, drive, and dedication to establish a new program. The successful candidate should be prepared to begin no later than July 2, 2012.
