The School of Education is one of six schools within the University and is housed within the College of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences. Gannon University invites nominations and applications to serve as Director of the School of Education. The new Director will facilitate continued growth and development in the School of Education in order to continue its longstanding tradition of excellence in educating compassionate and talented teachers. Gannon desires an individual with notable expertise in one or more cognate areas of education, experience in higher education and involvement with NCATE accreditation. Gannon’s School of Education continues to distinguish itself throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for its exceptional undergraduate teacher training programs as well as for its excellent graduate programs at multiple regional sites. The new Director will be responsible for achieving several strategic goals, including initial NCATE accreditation, the increase of program enrollment and expansion of on-line program delivery. The Director’s primary responsibility will be the administration of the School and serving as a faculty colleague (Assistant or Associate Professor).
To be considered, qualified candidates must also provide evidence of effective teaching methods and productive scholarship in their respective fields.  An appropriate doctoral degree is required (Ph.D. /Ed.D.). Ideally, candidates will also have experience using course management systems for the purposes of instruction and advising. All applicants should indicate knowledge and experiences with pertinent accreditation and assessment activities required to meet NCATE standards in their letter of application.
