Academic Vice President and Dean of Faculty - Elmira College

Elmira College is a private liberal arts institution located on a 50-acre campus in upstate New York’s Finger Lakes Region.  The college was founded in 1855 and has an enrollment of more than 1,200 students. Accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and home of the internationally known Center for Mark Twain Studies, it is classified by the Carnegie Foundation as Baccalaureate Diverse.  A Phi Beta Kappa chapter was instituted at Elmira in 1940.

The academic vice president serves as the chief academic officer of the college.  Reporting to the president, the vice president is one of six members of the presidential cabinet, the others being the vice presidents for finance, student life, athletics and health services, public relations, and development.

The academic vice president will have an earned doctorate in an appropriate field from a regionally accredited college or university and experience as a proven academic leader and strategic planner.  The successful candidate will be a strong leader and prudent manager with proven ability to cultivate relationships among a broad range of internal and external constituencies.
