VICE PRESIDENT FOR ENROLLMENT

 

Presentation College (www.presentation.edu) is seeking nominations and applications for a Vice President for Enrollment. Reporting directly to the President, the Vice President for Enrollment is responsible for enrollment and student retention services.  These responsibilities include organization and implementation of recruiting at all levels; supervision of financial aid, athletic recruiting and retention program coordination and reporting. 

Presentation College is a four-year, private Catholic college sponsored by and receiving its tradition of concern for persons from the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary.  Founded in 1951 and located in Aberdeen, South Dakota, Presentation College has a professions focus in the undergraduate programs, including arts & sciences, nursing, business, social work, education, and allied health.  Campuses are located in Aberdeen, and Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Fairmont, Minnesota.  The College also offers instruction online through PC Virtual.

Responsibilities:

  • Shape an admissions and financial aid program that is effective and embodies the central core mission and values of Presentation College;
  • Establish strategic priorities and goals for the enrollment team while maintaining fiscally responsible leadership;
  • Request and analyze data to shape strategic direction; reassess the effectiveness of Presentation’s recruitment, selection, and financial aid programs and make appropriate adjustments;
  • Serve as a dynamic and compelling representative of the College to all constituencies;
  • Inspire and engage others to join together in serving as ambassadors for Presentation;
  • Attract and enroll an increasingly diverse and growing number of higher qualified student applicants;
  • Fulfill the recruitment and retention goals of the College’s strategic plan;
  • Develop and enhance relationships with members of the high school counseling community. Equip them to effectively communicate Presentation’s programs, approach, and value to aspiring college students and their families;
  • Function as a spokesperson for and on behalf of the values of the College and of a transforming education;
  • Promote the effectiveness, professional development, and job satisfaction of the Enrollment staff;
  • In collaboration with the marketing department, engage with media to help ensure that Presentation’s values and views are heard. Foster strong, consistent messages that increase the College’s reputation and regional visibility and reach;
  • Creatively develop and utilize existing and emerging technologies to communicate and build relationships among all constituents and primarily with students, families, and counselors;
  • Use appropriate technology and other tools and resources to effectively manage and administer the enrollment offices;
  • Lead the Presentation community in conversations about enrollment priorities, shifting demographics, College aspirations, and the trade-offs and priorities that inform and shape enrollment policy and programs;
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the senior administration, especially in areas of recruitment, retention, College publicity, fundraising, alumni engagement, fiscal operations, and student/alumni career development;
  • Work effectively with the president and the other senior leaders to fulfill the vision for enrollment at the college;
  • Coordinate recruiting efforts with faculty, keeping academic departments apprised of the number of students accepted for each program;
  • Discuss and evaluate program admissions criteria;
  • Oversee and design the website pertaining to admissions, recruitment, and marketing of College programs, in collaboration with the Coordinator of Marketing and Graphic Design; and
  • Submit strategic and operational plans and assessment on an annual basis.

Qualifications:

 

  • Master’s degree required. 
  • 5+ years of management experience in recruitment and enrollment in higher education.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and public relations skills and marketing abilities.
  • Positively influence/motivate key personnel within the College as well as externally.
  • Multi-task several projects/responsibilities at one time. 
  • Convey a professional manner, representing the College and its mission and philosophy.
