The President of St. Vincent’s College (www.stvincentscollege.edu) invites nominations and applications for the position of Vice President of Enrollment Management and Dean of Students. St. Vincent’s is a community-based college, faithful to the teachings of the Catholic Church, providing education in nursing, allied health, and the liberal arts and sciences.  A subsidiary of St. Vincent’s Medical Center, St. Vincent’s is the only College in the State of Connecticut committed solely to the preparation of nurses and allied health professionals. The College offers associate and baccalaureate healthcare degrees and general studies as well as specialized certificate programs in healthcare careers.  The educational environment provides low student/teacher ratios, accessible faculty and administrators, and quality academic programs.  The College’s affiliation with a major medical teaching center affords students a variety of clinical learning opportunities.  The student enrollment of St. Vincent’s College has doubled over the five-year period of Academic Year 2008-2009 to Academic Year 2012-2013. The spring 2013 head count is 818 students.  Enrollment is expected to grow as additional degree programs are added to the College’s offerings. St. Vincent’s is conveniently located in the Eastern Fairfield County region of Connecticut, with easy access from both Interstate 95 and the Merritt Parkway. Located on Main Street, the College is adjacent to the St. Vincent’s Medical Center.

 

Reporting to the President and as a member of her Management Council, the new Vice President will provide leadership for the Enrollment Services and the Student Support Services areas of the College including working with the leaders of the departments to identify effective strategies specific to St. Vincent’s College students. S/He will:

  • Be responsible for budget development and execution for assigned departments.
  • Evaluate direct reports, assist in setting their annual goals, and provide support for staff development.
  • Coordinate the annual renewal of student insurance and other non-academic policies.
  • Provide oversight for student non-academic disciplinary/code of conduct, issues.
  • Provide leadership for the annual updating of the College Catalogue, Student Handbook and other on-line and hard copy student publications.
  • Serve as the liaison with human resources and legal council on issues related to, employee performance and employee improvement plans, staff and student grievances and other disciplinary matters.
  • Serve as institutional liaison with NEASC and the State Department of Higher Education along with the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
  • Provide leadership for initiating changes in clinical and other institutional affiliation agreements.
  • Serve on campus committees.
  • Represent Enrollment and Student Services to the College’s Board of Trustees (BOT).
  • Promote the mission and purposes of the College in various internal and external activities.
  • Participate in College Admissions activities and College fund raising activities.
  • Adhere to the standards and policies of the Corporate Responsibility Program.
  • Embrace Standards of Behavior.  Holds self and others accountable.

Requirements: a master’s degree from an accredited college or university (an earned doctorate or terminal degree preferred); a min. of five (5) years of progressively responsible leadership and accountability in comprehensive enrollment management and student affairs (preference given to those from allied health institutions); exceptional communication skills; a practical and intellectual commitment to higher education; and a commitment to working effectively with other administrators, staff, and faculty in communicating the mission of the college.
