Vice President of Academic Affairs


 

Regis College is seeking nominations and applications for the newly created position of Vice President of Academic Affairs (VPAA). The College, founded in 1927, is a diverse and welcoming community guided by the values of the founders, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston.  Located on a lovely 132-acre campus in Weston, Massachusetts, Regis is a Catholic, liberal arts and sciences co-educational college that empowers women and men to challenge themselves academically, to serve and to lead. Accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), Regis College boasts an enrollment of almost 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students, a student/faculty ratio of 14:1, and offers seventeen majors, thirty minors, honors program, teacher licensure, and a combined bachelor’s/master’s option. While the students pursue diverse majors, they all share a common curriculum that develops skills in academic inquiry, communication and reasoning.

 

Under the direction of the President, Dr. Antoinette Hays, the Vice President of Academic Affairs is a member of the Administrative Council and responsible for the overall direction of academic programs, new curriculum initiatives, academic policy areas, academic support and services for students, and the development of academic and industry partnerships.  The VPAA supervises the two Academic Deans, the two Associate Academic Deans, the Dean of Institutional Research and Assessment (IRA), the Library, Academic Support/Advising Services, and Faculty Services.

 

Regis College seeks an energetic individual with: an earned doctorate from an accredited U.S. college or university; a passion for the school’s mission; a distinguished record of teaching, scholarship and collegial service; a strong commitment and ability to lead through shared and cross-disciplinary decision-making; and a minimum of 5 years experience in higher education supervision.  The new VPAA must have impeccable integrity, exemplary oral and written communication skills, the ability to maintain strong and positive relationships with faculty, students, and administrators; and an appreciation for the role of a Catholic college in 21st century America.
