St. John Fisher College, Rochester, New York, invites nominations and applications for the position of President. The College, an independent, liberal arts institution founded in 1948, is a collaborative community dedicated to teaching and learning in a personalized educational environment.   St. John Fisher College is guided by its Catholic heritage and its founders, the Basilian Fathers, whose motto “Teach me goodness, discipline, and knowledge” permeates the campus Through an education rooted in the liberal arts, the College prepares individuals for lives of intellectual, professional, and civic integrity, in which diversity and service to others are valued and practiced.  (www.sjfc.edu)

 

Offering 33 academic majors, as well as eleven pre-professional programs, nine master’s programs, and three doctoral programs, the College enrolls approximately 4,000 total undergraduate and graduate students. For the fourth year in a row, St. John Fisher College has been named by U.S. News & World Report to the list of America's Best Colleges 2015 in the National Universities category and has been cited on "America’s Top Colleges" published by Forbes.com. Following on the successes built by the retiring President, Dr. Donald Bain, the new President will report to the Board of Trustees and shall be the Chief Executive Officer of the College.  The Board is seeking a highly qualified professional who has a strong background and executive level experience in institutional leadership.

 

The ideal candidate must have the credentials appropriate for a college president: a PhD or terminal degree; a proven record of success in senior management and leadership; an understanding of demonstrated success in a fundraising role; a comprehensive understanding of the issues and opportunities facing higher education including market and new academic initiatives; experience in strategic planning; and the skills necessary for building important relationships for growth of the College. The new President must have impeccable integrity, a record of proven leadership ability and vision, exemplary communication skills, and most importantly, a commitment to the mission, vision and values of the College.

Application deadline is December 22, 2014, although applications will be accepted until a new president is selected. The new President shall assume the position on July 1, 2015.  All applications and nominations will be considered highly confidential.
