Assistant or Associate Professor of Physical Therapy

 

Concordia University, St. Paul is accepting nominations and applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant or associate professor.  The successful candidate will join Concordia University, St. Paul in developing a new entry-level DPT program.  This position is a 12-month appointment. 

 

Primary responsibilities: Teaching and scholarship in areas of expertise across the entry-level DPT program.  Additional responsibilities include academic and research advising and service to the program, university, and community. 

                    

Desired areas of expertise: Administration, cardiopulmonary, care of the medically complex individuals, health promotion, integumentary medical screening, pathophysiology, pediatrics, pharmacology, service learning, therapeutic exercise, and/or therapeutic modalities.

 

Required qualifications, skills and accomplishments:

  • A terminal academic doctoral degree or substantial progress toward completion of a terminal degree (PhD, EdD, DHS).
  • Eligibility for Minnesota physical therapy licensure.
  • Experience as a successful academic and/or clinical teacher.
  • Evidence of an ongoing or developing scholarly agenda.
  • A record of involvement within the professional community.
  • Ability to function well within a collegial, collaborative work environment.
  • Active membership in a Christian church.
  • A commitment to Christian higher education; mission of the DPT program; mission of the University; and the Lutheran identity of this university.
